It was a joy to write this book for the new Project X Origins Graphic Texts series. I wanted to inspire children to see art as something that EVERYONE can do – you don’t have to be great, old (or dead!). The story starts on a school trip to an art gallery. Two children get a shock when the portraits start to speak, taking them on an adventure through the childhoods of five great artists. The graphic text format lends itself to humour and real-life quotes, all beautifully realized by Sally Jane Thompson’s fantastic illustration.

The book isn’t out until August, but is available as a free preview on Oxford Owl!
